Henry William Banks Davis

Henry William Banks Davis was a painter of landscapes and animal subjects who lived in and worked from London. His subjects were mostly landscapes with animals in Wales, Scotland and Northern France.
In the early 1850’s and 1860’s Banks Davis was much influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites and his works show a high level of observation and detailed technique. His pictures were immensely popular and made high prices at auction in his own lifetime.
Banks Davis exhibited over 100 works at the Royal Academy between 1852 and 1904 as well as exhibiting at the British Institution, Suffolk Street and the New Gallery.
